Welcome to the fan web of composer Bill Conti.
I made this web because any more complete pages of Bill Conti, the one of greatest composers of film and TV music, dosn't exists and I want reclaim this big mistake. The informations are very hard to find, so I would be glad, if anybody could help with newer photos, interviews, ect. You can visit Eckhard's fan web of Bill Conti and you can visit my own web, where in Soundtracks section u can find very expansive database of photos of many composers and information about hard find scores or bootlegs. That Championship Season on CD!!!

Yesterday La La Land Records released Conti's music from That Championship Season (1982) in limited edition of 1200 copies. The first 100 copies ordered through the LLL website will include a booklet signed by composer Bill Conti. More information in Discography section.

BSX released Murderers Among Us: The Simon Wiesenthal Story

Buysoundtrax released today about 25 min longer version of Conti's excellent work the Murderers Among Us: The Simon Wiesenthal Story in limited edition of 1000 copies. The first 100 copies ordered through the Buysoundtrax website will include a booklet signed by composer Bill Conti. More information in Discography section.

Varese released The Right Stuff

We have wait a very long time to release of one of the best Conti's score from The Right Stuff. Varese Sarabande released this score as special limited edition of 3000 copies. More information in Discography.

Intrada released CD Uncle Joe Shannon

Conti's score from Uncle Joe Shannon was available only as LP, which was released in 1978. Thanks to Intrada we have chance to enjoy this score on CD. Relesead as special limited edition of 1000 copies. More information in Discography.

Film version of Gonna Fly Now

As I promise, you can find now in Media section the film version of Gonna Fly Now song from ROCKY, ROCKY II, ROCKY III a ROCKY BALBOA. This real film version haven't officially release yet. The version, you can find on officially soundtracks, has differences especially in guitar section and in arrangement. For me is the best Gonna Fly Now version from ROCKY III. Explore yourself ;-)

Record of LSU Wind Ensemble concert conducted by Bill Conti

On the Louisana Music Hall of Fame website is available the whole videorecording of LSU Wind Ensemble concert from 22.4. 2008 (14 videos), which Conti conducted, including video from his induction into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame (categorie Inductees Videos). Categorie Inductees Galleries contains 52 Conti's photos not only from LSU concert. I also added a few videos to Media section (the alternate version of opening song from For Your Eyes Only, track Packed Up and opening credits from TV series Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story).

Varese released complete North and South: Book 2 , update Media section

And here we have the next distribution of presents Conti's fantastic score "North & South: Book 2" released by Varese Sarabande as limited editon of 1500 copies. More information about this 3CD set you find Discography section.
Also I have for you in Media section some new photos and here on LSU web you can find interesting article about Conti's return to LSU (Louisiana State University) include short video interview with Conti about LSU and equipment for students. On same web is related photo gallery, which containst 5 photos from rehearsal with LSU Wind Ensemble and 6 photos from their concert, which was conducted by Mr. conti. In the end I found this short notification about Conti's nomination as Musical Director for the 80th Academy Awards containst also one Conti's photo.

Master of the Universe complete from La La Land Records

The promised Masters of the Universe 2CD set from La La Land Records was released a few days ago and 100 lucky men (including me) has signed CD. More information about this CD set Discography section.
I also updated the Filmography section, because except finished movie "The Perfect Game" we can look forward to the next Conti's project "Moonlight Blade".

Release of complete score from Masters of the Universe?

Mr. Conti provide very interesting interview, which you can find on Buysountrax website (here). Within the context of this had got out information, that La La Land Records planning on late June early July 2CD set of Conti's "Masters of Universe" and first 100 copies will be signed by composer ;-)

Update Media section, report from the concert in Maine

Into Media section was added a few interesting links to videos with Bill Conti and his music.

On 15.3. and 16.3. 2008 was held in Portland, in the state Maine, concert named Tribute to Henry Mancini, where Bill Conti was conducting the Portland Symphony Orchestra. Here you can read the report from this concert.

Bill Conti as musical director for the 80th Academy Awards, Varese released complete score from North and South

Bill Conti has return to the Oscar podium as musical director for the 80th Academy Awards. This was the 19th time that Conti has conducted the Academy Awards Orchestra. If anybody have some Conti's photo, please, just let me know ;-)

Into Discography section was added the 4CD box set with complete score from the TV miniseries "North and South" in limited edition of 2500 copies, which was released by Varese Sarabande. Thanks a lot guys, you did a great job ;-)

Varese released Neighbors, update Bootlegs, Covers and Media section

Update Discography section. Varese released in Soundtrack Club edition another Conti's score, this time it was Neighbors in limited edition of 1500 copies (CD also includes the unused score by Tom Scott).

Another updated section is Bootlegs and Covers, where I added the information and cover (thanks to Iceboy) to expanded score For Your Eyes Only. In the end was added some photo in Media section.

Varese released F/X Deluxe Edition, update Media section

Update section Discography. Varese released in Soundtrack Club edition another Conti's score, this time its F/X: Deluxe Edition in limited edition of 2000 copies.

On the G the movie web you have chance listen the complete score, which Conti composed for this movie. Score has 6 tracks with total time about 20 min. For those of you, who have less internet connection, I prepare this score to one zip file and put in Media section (thanks to Eckhardovi for cover creating).

If you find somewhere the Grand Canyon Expanded, do you have to know, that is a fake. This "expanded" version containst oficial release + 3 tracks from Lock Up and one track from Paradise Alley.

Varese will release complete score from Karate Kid saga !!!

Varese Sarabande offers one of the biggest releases yet to come from the Club. Bill Conti’s score for 1984’s The Karate Kid is another of the quintessential scores from the 80s that everyone remembers. It is also a score that left film music fans of the time absolutely bewildered that such a famous score for such a successful film could go unreleased. For the first time ever … four premiere releases … Bill Conti’s The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid, Part II, The Karate Kid, Part III and The Next Karate Kid are now available in a 4 CD Box set! It's limited edition of 2,500 copies. For Conti's fans began the second Christmas :-)
And just one information. The limited edition of CD Rookie Of The Year / A Night In The Life Of Jimmy Reardon / Bushwhacked remains fewer than 300 copies and Gloria CD remains fewer than 500 copies.

With the world premiere of Rocky Balboa movie, which is expected in December 2006, will be realesed compilation CD Rocky Balboa: The Best of Rocky, more in Discography. Its a pitty, that the CD does'nt containst any new score tracks.

Conti's rejected score from Goldenye? No!

I was taking the informations about rejected score Goldeneye. I just realized, that Bill Conti was'nt engage in this movie. The used score composed Eric Serra, who replaced the composer Michael J. Lewis. So, Goldeneye rejected score its music demo by M. J. Lewise not by Conti. Only Spy Hard (6 tracks version) exist like bootleg. I'm sorry for entrenching informations.

Here you can find very good interview with Bill Conti include the list of his Gold and Platinum albums.

At the end I bring the sad news that one of the masters of film music Basil Poledouris has died yesterday after his battle with cancer. Its a shock for all fans of film music, but his work stay with us. Well, farewell Mr. Poledouris.

Rocky trumpeter passes away

Trumpeting legend Maynard Ferguson has died aged 78 in California. The musician is best known to film music fans for his performance on Bill Conti’s ‘Gonna Fly Now’ from the Rocky series, which became a top ten hit in the US and earned a grammy nomination. Maynard’s career started early, at the age of thirteen, when he performed with the Canadian Broadcasting Company Orchestra. In the 1940s he moved onto the Big Band circuit, performing with legends like Count Basie, Duke Ellington and Dizzy Gillespie, before eventually settling in California where he led the Innovations Orchestra and performed on numerous movie soundtracks.
